Turkey’s nice and all, but everyone knows that real star of Thanksgiving is the mashed potatoes. Oh, and the stuffing. And the green beans. Sweet potatoes, cranberry, creamed onions, broccoli casserole…these all trump the bird. So let’s make like Pilgrims and Indians and have a good old-fashioned feast, minus the turkey. We’ll vote at the end, and the dish we’re the most thankful for will be the winner.
- Please have your dish mostly assembled in advance. You’ll have time and space to heat and garnish, but since it’s a Friday night, we’d like to get everything on the table quickly.
- It’s got to be a side dish. Please don’t bring a huge turkey.
- Your dish should be large enough for around 20 people to sample. (Sample. We won’t all be having meal-size portions of your green beans.)
